When you use a typical finance app, you're handing over your complete financial life: what you earn, where you spend, your bank connections, your investment portfolio. Many apps monetize this data — selling spending patterns to advertisers, lenders, and data aggregators. You become the product.

DhanRakh's Privacy Principles

DhanRakh is built on three foundational privacy principles:

1. On-device first — your financial data lives on your phone. Offline mode stores everything locally in SQLite. No internet required to track your money.
2. Row-Level Security (RLS) — when data syncs to the cloud, every single database row is protected. You can only access your own data. Not even DhanRakh admins can see your transactions.
3. No data monetization — we will never sell, share, or use your financial data for advertising. Our revenue comes from subscriptions, not your personal information.

Technical Security Measures

For the technically minded, here's how DhanRakh protects your data:

• Row-Level Security — every table in our PostgreSQL database has RLS policies enforced. Even if our entire database were compromised, an attacker couldn't read your data without your authentication token.
• Encrypted storage — will documents and sensitive notes are encrypted before storage
• PIN protection — optional app PIN prevents unauthorized access even if someone has your phone
• Secure authentication — OTP-based phone verification, no passwords to steal
• Audit logging — every sensitive action is logged for your review

What We Don't Do

• We don't read your SMS messages
• We don't access your bank accounts directly
• We don't share data with third-party advertisers
• We don't track your location
• We don't sell analytics about your spending habits

Voice Processing Privacy

When you use voice entry, the speech-to-text processing happens using standard device APIs. Your voice recordings are not stored, transmitted to DhanRakh servers, or used for any purpose other than converting your words to text in real time.

Your Data, Your Control

You can export all your data (CSV/PDF) at any time. You can delete your entire account and all associated data with a single action. DhanRakh believes your financial data belongs to one person — you.
